What is Making Safeguarding Personal?
Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) is putting the person at the centre of safeguarding. We value the voice of the person with lived experience and nothing should happen to them without seeking their opinion.
We want to engage with the person at the centre of the concern directly. We will listen to the person at the centre of the concern about what matters to them and involve them and/or those important to them in decisions about their safety and wellbeing.
People will be supported, informed and involved so they can make choices and have as much control as possible over their lives.
Making Safeguarding Personal is not just a process.
It is an approach that will guide all work with adults at risk, ensuring their views, wishes and desired outcomes remain the focus of any safeguarding action.
